Baseball Recap: West Springfield Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Battlefield

West Springfield faced Battlefield in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Spartans lost 11-4 to the Bobcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Spartans have suffered since March 25, 2024.

West Springfield's defeat dropped their record down to 13-2. As for Battlefield, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-0.

Coming up, West Springfield will welcome Lake Braddock at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Bruins will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Spartans surely won't give up without a fight.
