Softball Recap: UMS-Wright Prep Wins Going Away Against Leflore

UMS-Wright Prep never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over the LeFlore Rattlers. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Bulldogs also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Parker Abston made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Kenleigh Hess was a standout: she scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Ella McGill, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.

UMS-Wright Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .571. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.

UMS-Wright Prep now has a winning record of 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. UMS-Wright Prep will venture away from home to face off against St. Michael Catholic at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Michael Catholic is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season. As for LeFlore, they will head out on the road to take on Cottage Hill Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
