Basketball Game Preview: Parsippany Redhawks vs. Pequannock Golden Panthers

Parsippany is 0-10 against Pequannock since February of 2017 but things could change on Thursday. The Parsippany Redhawks will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against the Pequannock Golden Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Parsippany is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Morris County Tech. Parsippany breezed by Morris County Tech to the tune of 62-25 on Tuesday. With the Redhawks ahead 32-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.

David Niedermaier was a one-man wrecking crew for Parsippany as he went 8 for 12 on his way to 20 points and five assists. That's the most assists Niedermaier has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Schmieder, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.

Meanwhile, Pequannock gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Tuesday. They came out on top against Whippany Park by a score of 57-46.

Parsippany took a serious blow against Pequannock when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 68-34. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Parsippany was down 37-11.
