Volleyball Recap: Isle of Wight Academy Comes Up Short

Isle of Wight Academy lost against Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Chargers fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The Chargers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Isle of Wight Academy took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The match finished with set scores of 25-18, 22-25, 23-25, 25-23, 17-15.

Despite the loss, Isle of Wight Academy still got an impressive performance from Christina Petruzalek, who had 25 digs, six aces, and five kills. With that strong performance, Petruzalek is now averaging an impressive 10.7 digs per game. Jacy Jones was another key player, getting 23 digs and one assist.

Isle of Wight Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Coming up, Isle of Wight Academy will venture away from home to square off against Central Virginia Homeschool Athletic Association at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Blessed Sacrament-Huguenot, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Banner Christian on the 9th.
