Volleyball Recap: Lackawanna Trail Takes a Loss

Lackawanna Trail came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against the Blue Ridge Raiders, falling 3-0. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Raiders when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-14, 25-18, 25-6.

Cheyanne Zona paced Lackawanna Trail's offense, picking up three kills. Zona really made an impact as she also led the team in assists with three. Tiah Stroble controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Among those leading the charge was Layla Sinnett, who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces gave her a new career-high.

Lackawanna Trail dropped their record down to 1-14 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Blue Ridge, their record now sits at 16-1.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lackawanna Trail will challenge rival Western Wayne at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Blue Ridge is set to square off against their familiar foe Forest City at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
