Softball Preview: Damascus Hornets vs. Northwood Gladiators
The Damascus Hornets will head out on the road to challenge the Northwood Gladiators at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Damascus has 15 straight wins, Northwood has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Damascus stacked a 15th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Thursday. Everything went their way against Paint Branch as Damascus made off with a 10-0 victory.
Damascus got a massive performance out of Katie Alexander, who went 1-for-2 with a home run and two runs. Another player making a difference was Falyn Quick, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.
Northwood lost 14-4 to Bethesda-Chevy Chase on Wednesday.
Damascus pushed their record up to 16-1 with that win, which was their 20th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Northwood, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-8.
