Basketball Recap: Manning Takes a Loss

The Manning Monarchs didn't have quite enough to beat the Myrtle Beach Seahawks on Saturday and fell 53-50.

When it comes to explaining why Manning lost, don't look at Lovell Stevenson. Despite the final result, he shot 4-for-6 from deep and dropped a double-double with 19 points and 12 boards. Stevenson has been hot, having posted eight or more rebounds the last seven times he's played. Trey Beaufort also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Manning's loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Myrtle Beach, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Manning will head out to face off against Crestwood at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Myrtle Beach, they will venture away from home to take on Loris at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
