Basketball Game Preview: Palm Beach Lakes Rams vs. North Broward Prep Eagles

The Palm Beach Lakes Rams will take on the North Broward Prep Eagles in a tournament on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

Last Thursday, Palm Beach Lakes lost to Central on the road by a 50-35 margin.

Meanwhile, North Broward Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. The game between them and Westminster Academy didn't end well, with North Broward Prep falling 62-46. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while the Lions are ranked 14th).

Palm Beach Lakes will need focus on slowing down Makena Longo, one of several North Broward Prep players who made an impact when they last played. She posted nine points and six steals. Those six steals gave Longo a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Abby Krause, who scored eight points and four steals.

North Broward Prep's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Palm Beach Lakes, they dropped their record down to 8-7 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.
