Soccer Recap: Grossmont Comes Up Short

If Grossmont was feeling good fresh off their 5-0 takedown of Mount Miguel last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Grossmont Foothillers fell just short of the El Capitan Vaqueros by a score of 2-1 on Friday. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Foothillers came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 409th, while the Vaqueros are ranked 877th).

Grossmont's defeat dropped their record down to 9-8-2. As for El Capitan, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grossmont will take on West Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for El Capitan, they are taking a road trip to challenge Mount Miguel at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
