Baseball Recap: Walkertown Victorious

Walkertown lost to Leadership Academy back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Wolfpack walked away with a 6-1 victory over the Falcons. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolfpack.

Owen Tidd tossed a big game, not allowing a single hit and allowing only one earned run over 5.1 innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Walkertown's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Manny Morales, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. David Olmedo was another, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.

Walkertown's record now sits at 17-6. As for Leadership Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Walkertown does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Leadership Academy, they will square off against Southwestern Randolph at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Cougars have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.1 runs per game on average), something the Falcons will no doubt try to take advantage of.
