Basketball Recap: Hopatcong Falls to Newton in First Game of Season

Hopatcong unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Newton Braves an easy 40-17 victory. The Chiefs' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it six in a row dating back to last season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hopatcong and Kittatinny Regional will compete for holiday cheer at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Newton, they will head out to face off against Sussex County Tech at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
