Basketball Recap: Randolph-Clay Falls Despite Big Games from Tyrion Smith and Jaleen Gibson

Randolph-Clay and Warren County squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Randolph-Clay had to settle for second. They took a 51-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Warren County Screaming Devils. The match marked the Red Devils' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Randolph-Clay's loss came despite strong showings from Jaleen Gibson and Tyrion Smith. Gibson posted ten points and six rebounds, while Smith put up seven points and seven boards. Gibson is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last four games he's played. Thomas Green was another key player, putting up eight points.

Randolph-Clay's defeat dropped their record down to 26-3. As for Warren County, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.
