League recap: Jamestown tops Frontier to extend winning streak

Jamestown extended the longest winning streak in Section 6 AA - South this week by beating Frontier, 42-14. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.

Jamestown was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating the Falcons. Tom Langworthy's team came in at 16 in the state poll after placing at number 34 last week.

Jacob Sisson and Da'quan Hollingsworth gave the Red Raiders a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Sisson threw for 52 yards, while Hollingsworth ran for 193 yards. Sisson also contributed to the rushing game with 102 yards on the ground.

6-foot-0 quarterback Colafranceschi Kevin of Lancaster is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1605. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, Jamestown's Hollingsworth has rushed for 1285 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Zach Panebianco. The Jamestown star has 25 catches for 552 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Orchard Park and the Red Raiders. The Quakers enters the contest ranked 22nd in the state, while Jamestown ranks 16th.

The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Orchard Park takes on the Red Raiders. Gene Tundo's team has allowed 174 points this season, while Jamestown has given up 165. The Quakers allowed 16 points last week as they defeated Lockport.

Clarence took down Kenmore West 48-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
