Valley View never let their opponents score on Friday. They put the hurt on the Colony Titans with a sharp 16-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Not much got past Bella Hernandez, who gave up just five hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Colony off the board.
At the plate, Valley View let Alyssa Torres and Miranda Maese run wild. Torres fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-4, while Maese went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Those four hits gave Maese a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Maddie Barrios, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Valley View lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Colony didn't launched any home runs.
Valley View is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season. As for Colony, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Coming up, Valley View will challenge Liberty at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are headed into the matchup with plenty of momentum (the Eagles have won four straight at home, while the Bison won three straight on the road), something that'll have to change. As for Colony, they will square off against Patriot at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
