Recap: Gilbert Christian Knights vs. American Leadership Academy - Ironwood Warriors

Even though the American Leadership Academy - Ironwood Warriors scored an imposing 69 points on Tuesday, the Gilbert Christian Knights still came out on top. Gilbert Christian walked away with a 77-69 win over American Leadership Academy - Ironwood. Winning is a bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 17 to 6 on the offensive boards, as Gilbert Christian did.

Gilbert Christian was led to victory by Lopemi. Omole and Keon Talgo. Omole dropped a double-double on 18 points and 21 rebounds, while Talgo scored 29 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Talgo continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Kamari Stanbury, who scored eight points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, American Leadership Academy - Ironwood had strong showings from Chad Coplin, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Jackson Edgerton, who scored 28 points along with two steals. Coplin has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marques Dorsey, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds.

Gilbert Christian is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for American Leadership Academy - Ironwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-5.

Hopefully Benjamin Franklin focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
