Baseball Recap: Lincolnton Takes a Loss

Lincolnton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They came up short against the Newton-Conover Red Devils, falling 11-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Red Devils this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 12-1 on March 7th.

Lincolnton's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Newton-Conover, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-5.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lincolnton will face off against rival Bandys at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Newton-Conover is set to challenge their familiar foe East Burke at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Newton-Conover 2.5, East Burke 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.
