Soccer Game Preview: Trinity Catholic vs. Williston

The Trinity Catholic Celtics will face off against the Williston Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Trinity Catholic came into their game on Tuesday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against P.K. Yonge, falling 5-0. While losing is never fun, Trinity Catholic can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida soccer rankings (they are ranked 402nd, while P.K. Yonge are ranked 180th).

Meanwhile, Williston kept a clean sheet against Lafayette on Thursday. They came out on top against the Hornets by a score of 2-0. Giovanni De La Cruz had to tread lightly for part of the match after he was hit with a yellow card, but that was the only trouble Williston got from the refs.

Williston has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-2-5 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 29 goals over those seven matches. As for Trinity Catholic, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5-2.

Trinity Catholic couldn't quite get it done against Williston in their previous matchup back in December of 2025 as they fell 4-2. Can the Celtics avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
