Preview: Lewisburg Patriots vs. Hernando Tigers

The Lewisburg Patriots will be playing in front of their home fans against the Hernando Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Friday, Lewisburg didn't have too much trouble with Oxford at home as they won 44-30. Given Lewisburg's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked 36th, while Oxford is ranked 138th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Lewisburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Allie Carroll, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Allison Irby was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with seven rebounds and four steals.

Meanwhile, Hernando entered their tilt with Southaven with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Hernando enjoyed a cozy 64-45 win over Southaven on Friday.

Lewisburg is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season. As for Hernando, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-5.

Lewisburg was able to grind out a solid victory over Hernando in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, winning 55-46. Will Lewisburg repeat their success, or does Hernando have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
