Steele Canyon had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Mount Miguel on Thursday. Everything went the Steele Canyon Cougars' way against the Mount Miguel Matadors as the Steele Canyon Cougars made off with a 3-0 win. The victory continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Matadors: they've now won seven in a row.

While Steele Canyon might've won, it sure wasn't easy: Mount Miguel scored at least 20 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 27-25, 25-22.

Mount Miguel's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jamall Soulivong, who had 17 digs.

The win got Steele Canyon back to even at 4-4. As for Mount Miguel, they dropped their record down to 4-14 with the defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Coming up, Steele Canyon will venture away from home to face off against West Hills at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mount Miguel, they will host Hoover at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
