Football Recap: Oak Grove Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pleasant Grove last Friday, Oak Grove came back down to earth. Oak Grove and West Blocton were almost perfectly matched up on Friday, but Oak Grove suffered an 18-17 loss. The matchup marked Oak Grove's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Oak Grove fell to 4-1. As for West Blocton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

After each having a week off, Oak Grove and Tarrant will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Tigers will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29.4 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for West Blocton, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Bibb County at 7:00 p.m. on October 3.
