Softball Recap: Okeechobee Has No Trouble Against Suncoast

Okeechobee got themselves on the board against Suncoast on Tuesday, but Suncoast never followed suit. They blew past the Suncoast Chargers 15-0. The Brahmans haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive victory against them.

Lilly Larson made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single walk, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Okeechobee let Alyssa Madrigal and Jenessa Arana run wild. Madrigal scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Arana scored two runs while going 2-for-4. What's more, Arana posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. Haylee Pendrey also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.

Okeechobee was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .312 or higher in three consecutive matches.

Okeechobee's record is now 3-4. As for Suncoast, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Looking ahead, Okeechobee will take on Sumner in a tournament on Friday. As for Suncoast, they will square off against Dr. Joaquin Garcia at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
