Basketball Game Preview: American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots vs. Iron Academy Swordsmen

The American Leadership Academy-Johnston Patriots just played last yesterday, but they'll still welcome the Iron Academy Swordsmen at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering Wake Christian Academy just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Thursday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 66-65 to the Bulldogs. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Wednesday (63), the Patriots still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, Iron Academy entered their tilt with Durham Charter on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 60-48.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8. As for Iron Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

American Leadership Academy-Johnston was able to grind out a solid win over Iron Academy when the teams last played back in January of 2024, winning 55-43.
