Baseball Recap: Patrick Henry Academy Triumphs

Patrick Henry Academy won the last time they faced Beaufort Academy and things went their way on Friday too. Patrick Henry Academy came out on top against Beaufort Academy by a score of 8-3.

Bryton Peeples made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in February of 2024.

In other batting news, Sims Brunson and Briar Long did most of the damage at the plate: Brunson went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs, while Long scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Long a new career-high. Garrett Herndon also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Patrick Henry Academy lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Patrick Henry Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for Beaufort Academy, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Looking ahead, Patrick Henry Academy will welcome Hilton Head Prep at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Beaufort Academy, they will venture away from home to take on Battery Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
