Football Recap: Sahuaro Comes Up Short + How To Watch

If Sahuaro was riding high fresh off their 44-6 takedown of Sabino last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cougars fell 25-15 to the Walden Grove Red Wolves on Friday. The Cougars have struggled against the Red Wolves recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Mariano Blackwell threw for 121 yards on nine of 16 attempts. Xavier Shelton was his top target, picking up 74 receiving yards.

Walden Grove's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Sebastian Gallardo, who rushed for 112 yards. With that strong performance, Gallardo is now averaging an impressive 101 rushing yards per game.

Sahuaro's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Walden Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Sahuaro will welcome Catalina Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Falcons will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Walden Grove, they will be playing at home against Mica Mountain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderbolts' defense has only allowed 8.3 points per game this season, so the Red Wolves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
