Football Recap: Owen Copsey's Menacing Defense Leads Jefferson over Fort Atkinson

Fort Atkinson came into Friday's game looking for another win against Jefferson, but Wyatt Strupp wouldn't allow it. The Eagles blew past the Blackhawks 41-6 on Friday for which the team can thank Strupp, who rushed for 143 yards and three TDs on only five carries, and also picked up 46 receiving yards and one score. His longest rush was for an impressive 69 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Jefferson didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Owen Copsey, Johnny Fountain, and Jaxon Bushey picked up one apiece.

The victory got Jefferson back to even at 1-1. As for Fort Atkinson, their loss was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-2.

Jefferson and Fort Atkinson will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Eagles are set to take on their familiar foe Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Fort Atkinson will face off against rival DeForest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
