Soccer Recap: Make It Two in a Row for Beachwood

Beachwood hadn't done well against Wickliffe recently (they were 0-8-1 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Bison's defense stepped up to hand the Blue Devils a 1-0 shutout. Beachwood wouldn't have won without Alison Stephens, who scored the game-winner.

The win made it two in a row for Beachwood and bumps their season record up to 11-2-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up zero goals over those two contests. As for Wickliffe, with the defeat, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 9-5.

Beachwood and Wickliffe are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Bison will welcome Perry at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wickliffe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Independence at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
