Basketball Recap: Purdue Broad Ripple Takes a Loss

Purdue Broad Ripple was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a 43-13 loss at the hands of the Indianapolis Washington Continentals. The Lynx were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 24-2.

Purdue Broad Ripple lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Emmaly Britt, who posted seven points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Nadia Harris, who had four points in addition to ten boards and four blocks.

Indianapolis Washington got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Ele'Jah Smith out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 16 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Smith a new career-high in assists (five). Another player making a difference was Shamya Orr, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.

Purdue Broad Ripple's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Indianapolis Washington, their record now sits at 5-6.

Purdue Broad Ripple didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 46-23 defeat against KIPP Legacy on the 17th. As for Indianapolis Washington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Indianapolis Shortridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
