After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Ava, Salem was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 5-2 win over St. James. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Salem as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Salem's win was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-5. As for St. James, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will venture away from home to face off against Houston at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Houston's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Salem's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for St. James, they will challenge Pacific at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
