Basketball Recap: Battle Creek Comes Up Short

Battle Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a blow against the Summertown Eagles, falling 97-32. The Grizzlies were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-14.

Kurt Burleson continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Summertown, putting up 17 points in addition to eight boards and three steals. Burleson's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Cole Campbell, who posted ten points in addition to seven assists and three steals.

Battle Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Summertown, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.

Battle Creek will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Franklin Classical School at 5:00 p.m. on December 21st. As for Summertown, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 66-40 win against Spring Hill on the 17th.
