Baseball Recap: Lynden Beats Mt. Baker for Their Sixth Straight Win

Lynden won against Squalicum on Tuesday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Wednesday. The Lions didn't even let the Mt. Baker Mountaineers on the board, marking the Lions' second-straight 16-0 shutout. Considering the Lions have won five matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The victory (which was Lynden's sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-3. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Mt. Baker, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-7.

Looking ahead, Lynden will square off against Selah at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Lions 2.3, the Vikings 1.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
