Football Game Preview: Central Eagles vs. Buford Yellow Jackets + How To Watch

The Central Eagles will head out to face off against the Buford Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Central will come into the game with an undefeated record on the line.

Central will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Cheraw, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Eagles walked away with a 34-27 victory over the Braves on Friday.

Central can attribute much of their success to Ashten Wilson, who rushed for 131 yards and one TD, and Dwayne Louallen Jr, who rushed for 87 yards and one touchdown.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 337 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 179 rushing yards in 11 consecutive contests dating back to last season.

Central's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB four times. That dominant display was truly a team effort as four different players picked up one apiece.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 34 points the game before, Buford was a bit more limited in their game on Friday. They took a blow against North Central, falling 42-0. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Buford's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Central, their win bumped their record up to 5-0.

Everything came up roses for Central against Buford in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 47-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
