Volleyball Recap: Mt. Vernon Takes a Loss

Mt. Vernon lost against Tecumseh back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Braves.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-21, 25-20.

Despite the loss, Mt. Vernon still got an impressive performance from Hannah McNeece, who had 20 digs. McNeece is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had ten or more in each of the last ten games she's played. Another player making a difference was Maiya Jones, who had 14 assists and ten digs.

Mt. Vernon has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-16 record this season. As for Tecumseh, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-6 record this season.

Mt. Vernon will face off against Evansville North at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tecumseh has already played their next contest (against Evansville Memorial), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
