Marie Philip needed a changed in momentum after dropping four straight matches and they got it from Kai Gabriel. The Galloping Ghosts came out on top against Varsity Opponent by a score of 2-0 on Friday thanks in part to Gabriel, who had 17 aces and one block. She has been hot, having posted two or more aces the last six times she's played.

Marie Philip easily took the second set, but they let things get interesting in the other. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-5.

Marie Philip's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 8-7-1.

Marie Philip has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against St. Mary's School for the Deaf on the 24th. Varsity Opponent has also already played their next matchup (against Ambassador Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
