South Central won the last time they faced C.B. Aycock and things went their way on Friday too. The South Central Falcons had just enough and edged out the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons 5-4. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Falcons.
Ava Coward was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. Coward was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Haven Roebuck and Lacey Spivey did most of the damage at the plate: Roebuck scored two runs while going 2-for-3, while Spivey scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. What's more, Roebuck posted two doubles, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kamdyn Haislip, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
South Central's record is now 2-0. As for C.B. Aycock, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Central will challenge Laney at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for C.B. Aycock, they will face off against Washington at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
