Volleyball Recap: Wilson Snags Eighth Victory in Last Ten Games

If Lower Richland wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Wilson, they should've done a better job of containing Janielle Carbonell. The Tigers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Diamond Hornets on Tuesday for which the team can thank Carbonell, who had 13 aces and nine digs. She has been hot for a while, having also posted 15 or more assists the last ten times she's played.

The final score came out to 25-0, 25-15, 25-20.

Wilson's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna Orozco-Ruiz led the charge by getting five aces and four digs. Those five aces gave Orozco-Ruiz a new career-high.

They weren't the only good servers: Wilson was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 24 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least six aces in 12 consecutive matchups.
