Baseball Recap: Cave Spring Takes a Loss

Cave Spring and Carroll County squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but Cave Spring had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Cavaliers by a score of 9-8. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cavaliers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in March of 2017.

Ryan Tibey was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Another player making a difference was Joe Farwell, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Cave Spring has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. As for Carroll County, the victory (which was their 19th in a row) raised their record to 20-2.

Cave Spring does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Carroll County has already played their next matchup (against Northside), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
