Basketball Game Preview: Calhoun Tigers vs. Escambia County Blue Devils

The Calhoun Tigers will take on the Escambia County Blue Devils in a tournament on Saturday. Calhoun knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully Escambia County likes a good challenge.

It was a proper cat-fight when Calhoun faced off against Southside on Thursday. The Tigers took a 68-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The matchup marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Escambia County put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top against Greenville by a score of 68-59. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Blue Devils' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 31st, while the Tigers are ranked 116th).

Escambia County's victory bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Calhoun, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
