Basketball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Burns

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Burns walked away with it. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Torrington Trailblazers 49-47. The victory was familiar territory for the Broncs, who have now won three matchups in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Burns to victory, but perhaps none more so than Josie Barrett, who went 7-for-14 on her way to 16 points. Barrett is also on a roll when it comes to blocks, as she's now posted two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Jencie Franzen was another key player, shooting 56% from the field en route to 14 points and eight boards.

Despite the loss, Torrington still got an impressive performance from Natalie Long, who went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points. Another player making a difference was Kadence Schamel, who posted seven points and seven steals.

Burns' win bumped their record up to 14-12. As for Torrington, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-9.

Burns didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 53-29 loss against Wheatland on the 6th. As for Torrington, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 48-41 victory against Rawlins on the 6th.
