Recap: Columbus International Lions vs. Linden-McKinley Panthers
The Columbus International Lions won against the Linden-McKinley Panthers on Thursday with 52 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Friday. Columbus International secured a 52-47 W over Linden-McKinley. The win made it back-to-back wins for Columbus International.
Leila Carter was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 34 points and 16 rebounds. That makes it eight consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Columbus International's points. Annazai Ingram-cross was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Despite the loss, Linden-McKinley had strong showings from Christiana Towns, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 16 rebounds, and Tamiya Harrington, who scored 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. That's the first time this season that Harrington scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Dennie Houston, who scored no points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
Columbus International's win ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-3. As for Linden-McKinley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Columbus International will be home for the holidays to greet Whetstone at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
