Willamette dropped their record down to 10-10 on Tuesday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the South Medford Panthers. The match marked the first time this season in which the Wolverines were not able to get on the board.

As for South Medford, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-11. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.

For South Medford's part, not much got past Jake Lewis, who gave up just a hit and racked up ten Ks to keep Willamette off the board. Lewis has become a key player for the Panthers: the team is 5-1 when he allows at most three hits, but 9-10 otherwise.

At the plate, South Medford saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Owen Leavens, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Ryan Tucker, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willamette will face off against North Medford at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. The Black Tornado's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so the Wolverines' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for South Medford, they will challenge West Salem at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
