Basketball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Quitman

Quitman extended their winning streak to four games thanks to a huge performance from Kaylin Sapp. The Quitman Bulldogs slipped by the Mineola Yellowjackets 46-45 on Tuesday thanks in part to Sapp, who went 5 for 7 on her way to 15 points. What's more, she also racked up three rebounds, the most she's had since back in November of 2024.

Annabelle Popek was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds. She continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played.

Quitman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Mineola, they moved to 13-13 with that defeat, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Quitman didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-21 win against Grand Saline on the 11th. As for Mineola, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 33-26 victory against Edgewood on the 10th.
