Basketball Game Preview: Dixie Heights Colonels vs. East Central Trojans

The Dixie Heights Colonels will square off against the East Central Trojans at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday. One thing working in Dixie Heights' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

Dixie Heights fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against North Oldham on Wednesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 62-61 to the Mustangs. The Colonels' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Meanwhile, East Central played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were beaten by Jennings County 74-38. The Trojans haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Dixie Heights will need focus on slowing down Peyton Hofer, one of several East Central players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 for 10 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds. Joel Richter was another key player, putting up eight points and seven rebounds.

East Central now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Dixie Heights, the defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 3-2.
