Softball Recap: Allen Park Snags Seventh Victory in Last Nine Games

Allen Park never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Lakeland on Saturday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 11-6. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Jaguars' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Hannah Ward was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Mak Sitarski, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Allen Park kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are a perfect 15-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Allen Park is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Lakeland, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 14-7 record this season.

Allen Park will challenge Saline at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Jaguars 3.5, the Hornets 0.8) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Lakeland, they will head out to face off against Grand Blanc at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bobcats have averaged an impressive 8.2 runs per game this season.
