Elizabeth Williams chooses Duke

Princess Anne (Virginia Beach, Va.) basketball star Elizabeth Williams, who is ranked as high as No. 2 nationally in the class of 2011, chose Duke University today over the University of Tennessee, according to the Virginian-Pilot.

The 6-foot-3 center averaged 16.9 points and 11.1 rebounds per game while blocking 172 shots as a junior.

Last summer she averaged 13.5 points, 7.6 rebounds and shot 61.8 percent to lead team USA to an 8-0 record and the gold medal during the FIBA Under-17 World Championships in France. The previous year she averaged 13.4 points and 5.2 rebounds as the USA won the FIBA Under-16 Americas Championship gold in Mexico.
