Basketball Recap: Mission Vista Takes a Loss

Mission Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 78-66 to the Ramona Bulldogs. The match was a 37-37 toss-up at halftime, but Mission Vista couldn't quite close it out.

Ramona's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Penner led the charge by going 7-for-15 to rack up 21 points and three steals. Penner's evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least 16 points. Colin Dillon was another key player, going 5-for-12 on his way to 19 points.

Mission Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 5-22. As for Ramona, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-14 record this season.

Mission Vista didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 54-53 victory against Oceanside on the 12th. As for Ramona, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 60-53 win against Rancho Bernardo on the 11th.
