Trico came tearing into Saturday's match with five straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 2-0 win over the Roxana Shells. That's more bragging rights for the Pioneers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Their offense was headlined by Hazel Helmers and Whitney Lovel, who picked up five kills apiece. They got some help from Molly Rathert and her eight assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Trico's victory bumped their record up to 10-2. As for Roxana, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Trico wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 defeat against Red Bud on the 13th. As for Roxana, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Valmeyer on the 13th.
