Broadwater Academy had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 61-43 win over Holly Grove Christian on Friday. Broadwater Academy's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Rufus Abbott was on fire: he scored 21 points along with nine steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Noah Pruitt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gateway Christian's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. The match between Gateway Christian and StoneBridge wasn't particularly close, with Gateway Christian falling 45-29. Gateway Christian has not had much luck with StoneBridge recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Broadwater Academy's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for Gateway Christian, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-7 record this season.
