Football Game Preview: San Jon/Grady vs. Carrizozo

Carrizozo will be playing at home against San Jon/Grady at at 6:30 PM on Friday. San Jon/Grady will need to watch out since Carrizozo have now posted big point totals in their last six contests.

Last Friday, Carrizozo put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They took the matchup and then some with a 58-6 win over Vaughn. Senior Jacob Navarez, who rushed for 266 yards and 5 touchdowns, was a major factor in Carrizozo's success. This marked the 3rd match in which Navarez has rushed for over 100 yards.

After a string of three wins, San Jon/Grady's good fortune finally ran out. They were given a punishing 34-70 loss at the hands of Springer/Maxwell. San Jon/Grady were down by 34-64 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Carrizozo's victory lifted them to 5-1 while San Jon/Grady's defeat dropped them down to 3-2. We'll find out if Carrizozo can add another positive mark to their record or if San Jon/Grady can shake off the defeat and take the spring out of Carrizozo's step.
