After a string of four wins, Case's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell just short of the Apponequet Regional Lakers by a score of 4-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Lakers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-9 back in April.

Jacob Weisburgh was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

Case's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Apponequet Regional, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.

Case and Apponequet Regional could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Massachusetts Rankings. The Cardinals will face off against Tiverton at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank disadvantage (161 vs. 36). Meanwhile, Apponequet Regional (ranked 139th) will meet Bishop Stang (ranked tenth) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
