East Central proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by three) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Medina Valley Panthers. The victory was familiar territory for the Hornets, who have now won eight games in a row.

East Central's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Medina Valley, they moved to 4-5 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

East Central has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Goliad on the 21st. As for Medina Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Comfort on the 21st.
